Three Fun Activities to Help Kids Learn About Teeth

It isn’t always an easy feat to get kids excited about forming good brushing habits! Actually, it can be quite challenging to start not to mention maintain the routine. Luckily, there are many tools, tips, and tricks to make their new activity a whole lot of fun!

Here are three fun activities to help kids learn about teeth:

  1. Read a book. Fun reads, such as Brush Your Teeth, Please: A Pop-up Book by Leslie McGuire are sure to get your kids intrigued with brushing their teeth. Start reading these educational books prior to actually working on forming the habit. This way they know what to anticipate and can start looking forward to it!
  2. Sing a song. If you’re not sure what songs to sing, you can find ideas here as well as a list of other activities kids are sure to enjoy. Singing songs to the familiar tune of Row Row Row Your Boat encourages children to become more active and interested in the routine.
  3. Draw and learn. Time to get out the construction paper and markers! Draw a set of teeth and color code to differentiate between types. For example, molars and incisors. Grab an old toothbrush and let your child practice brushing on the colored set!

If you are having trouble getting your kids excited about brushing their teeth, bring them in for a consultation! We are happy to show them just how to take care of those pearly whites as well as provide other activity ideas to do at home.
